The 2019 World Tuesday Night Championships, Metro Vancouver’s oldest and biggest midweek series, kicked off on the Glenlyon course in Burnaby. It was a warm and sunny spring evening for just under 200 people.

With a field size of 49, the Elite Men averaged 45 km/h on the fast, flat circuit and a last lap speed just under 50 km/h.

Alex Murison won the race for Trek Red Truck, with Nigel Kinney (Langlois Brown), and
Scott Wannop, of the mighty Mighty Cycling cycling team, taking second and third.

The Elite Women stayed gruppo compacto, and Claire Cameron (Fluevog Crit Nasty) prevailed at the
end. Cannondale’s Caitlin Wallin, and Caroyln Russell, Pender Racing p/b Bicicletta, took second and third in the hotly contested sprint finish.

The Cat 3 Men also stayed together for a big bunch sprint. Kevin Keresztes, Casual
Friday Cycle Club, was first across the line, ageless veteran Scott Goguen captured second, and Michael ”der Kaiser” Wegner, Langlois Brown Racing, was third.

Out of an impressive field of 56 starters, a group of three managed to get off the front on lap six, and stayed away to the finish. It was Emil-Peter Sosnowski (United Velo) in first place, followed 
by two members of EV’s junior squads: Manu Moore of Cannondale, and Campbell Parrish for Devo.

In the W4 field it was a field sprint with Chantalle Hansen from Glotman Simpson picking up the
first. Elise Murray, Independant for second and Astrid Wuerr DEVO pb Fortius for third.
