# Thunderbird Road Race The Thunderbird course has been a staple on the BC scene since 2010. It was first proposed by Gord Ready, for the BC Masters races and used by Escape Velocity since then. Parking and registration are courtesy of the Thunderbird Show Park in their East parking area entered off 248 St. Thunderbird is a simple and short course that can be deceptive. When run clockwise the rollers along 72 Avenue it features a leg sapping power climb across the railroad tracks on 256 St, then a fast rolling section, before a longer gradual climb to 64 Ave. Then flat to a descent on 64 ending in a fast dip and fast right and left turns and then right onto 248 St. A long descent before turning up just before the railroad for the sprint to the finish line in at the parking lot entrance. When done the other way around (counter-clockwise) the course starts with a short descent Southbound along 248 St, which turns into a climb back to 64 Ave. Through the right-left turns and through the dip, then climb up to 256 St. Over the tracks, and descend into the rollers along 72 Ave, left onto 248 St with a fast flat sprint to the finish line. ## Course Length: 6 km ## Climbing per Lap: 36m
